A very painful incident occurred on Friday afternoon near the Dhakoli railway gate in Mohali, where a 32‑year‑old young man was struck by a train. In this horrific incident, both of the young man's legs were severed. The injured young man has been referred to PGI Chandigarh for treatment in a critical condition, where his condition remains precarious.

Immediately after the incident, people present nearby showed humanity by handling the severely injured young man and promptly transporting him to the Dhakoli Community Health Centre (CHC). Doctors at the hospital provided first aid, but given his extremely severe condition, they referred him to PGI Chandigarh for better treatment.

The injured young man was identified as Parmar Lal (32), who was an alcoholic. After learning of the incident, his mother‑in‑law, Shridevi, who arrived at the hospital, stated that Parmar Lal was an alcohol abuser. On Friday afternoon he had gone towards the Dhakoli railway line, where he suddenly fell victim to a high‑speed train.

How the young man reached the track is under police investigation. Upon receiving the incident report, the Railway Police Force (GRP) took cognizance of the case. Police officials say they are investigating the severity of the circumstances of the incident. They are attempting to determine under what conditions and how the young man reached the railway track.
