Information emerging about Nana Patekar's last moments has moved his fans to tears.
According to Dr. Shekhar Salkar, head of the Oncology department at Manipal Hospital, the actor Nana Patekar was declared dead at a hospital in Goa after a cardiac arrest. The doctor said the actor was brought from his home to the hospital early on Thursday, where he was found unconscious. The medical team made every effort to revive him, but he could not be saved.
Nana Patekar Last Moments: Sent a message to a friend at 2:30 a.m.
Dr. Shekhar Salkar shared details of the actor’s final hours, stating that Nana Patekar messaged a friend around 2:30 a.m. saying he was feeling unwell. Because it was late at night, the friend did not see the message immediately. He later called and arrived at Nana Patekar’s house at about 4 a.m.
According to the doctor, when the friend reached the house, the actor was sweating heavily and his condition was rapidly deteriorating. Attempts were made to attend to him and provide initial aid, but he gradually lost consciousness. An ambulance was called with the help of a caretaker. The hospital’s emergency team also arrived at the house and found him completely unconscious. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was started on the spot.
CPR lasted 45 minutes to an hour
Nana Patekar’s condition was extremely critical. Dr. Salkar said that when the emergency team arrived, his state required immediate cardiac massage and CPR. He was then taken to the hospital between approximately 4:20 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. At the hospital, doctors and the medical team continued all possible measures to save him. CPR and other medical interventions continued for about 45 minutes to an hour. However, according to the doctors, the actor had already died by the time he reached the hospital, and despite all efforts, he could not be revived.
Family not present at the time of his final moments
Dr. Salkar noted that a medico‑legal case (MLC) was registered after Nana Patekar’s death, and his body was sent to Goa Medical College for post‑mortem. He added that when the actor’s health deteriorated and he was taken to the hospital, no family members were present. Only a friend and a caretaker were with him, trying to get him to the hospital and provide initial assistance.
Further official information about the actor’s demise is expected only after the post‑mortem and police procedures are completed.
